Jason Shields enlightens audiences by revealing the secrets to letting go of personal fears and facing personal challenges head on. Using his own experiences with cerebral palsy as an example, Jason teaches audiences how to recognize their own shortcomings, which are not always as visible, turning them into powerful allies for success. Combining inspiration with a twist of humor, Jason helps his audience recognize personal potential while they rid themselves of the myths of their own inabilities.

What are some of your challenges in life? For some of you, it may be striving to obtain the career of your dreams while working at a job you currently despise; for some, it may be getting in shape and losing those stubborn, extra 20 pounds; for others the challenge may be to get their children to communicate; and still for others, the challenge may be finding “the one” in a relationship. Every one of us faces normal challenges like these every day, but for people with disabilities, the challenges are much more complex. Daily activities and freedoms that able-bodied people usually face such as getting out of bed, going to the supermarket, and taking a shower are daily challenges for persons who have disabilities.
My name is Jason Shields and I was born with cerebral palsy. Cerebral Palsy is a neurological disorder that affects a person’s ability to move and to maintain balance and posture. It is due to a nonprogressive brain abnormality, which means that it does not get worse over time, though the exact symptoms can change over a person’s lifetime. The Jason Challenge is a series of challenges designed to push my physical, mental and emotional abilities beyond their limits. This will entail both small and large challenges that may seem ordinary to able-bodied persons but extraordinary to those of us who have disabilities. It is all about showing individuals, both the disabled and able bodied, that they can push through personal fears and social stigmas and find the strength within to achieve anything they desire in life.
This world needs a heavy dose of inspiration, especially now in the wake of a downsized economy and various wars. People need to remember that life is about living not merely surviving. 54 million Americans have a disability and 765,000 Americans have cerebral palsy. My fellow disabled Americans have tremendous strength and will deep within their hearts and I know they can achieve great things as can you. It is time that we all learn to cast aside the doubt and fears that have prevented us from truly living the life of our dreams.

What is going to be so fun and engaging about The Jason Challenge is that the possibilities here are endless! As a person with cerebral palsy, I have a litany of challenges out there in the world for me to face and conquer. When you take my strong determination along with my weird sense of humor, it will be nothing short of entertaining. Below is a sample list of challenges that I will be presented with. These are challenges that I have never attempted before! The list will grow as the public becomes more aware of The Jason Challenge and submit their own challenges for me to participate in. To Submit Your Own Challenge for Jason, Email Us!
Skydiving. Horseback riding. Bungee jumping. Public Speaking. Rock climbing. Swimming the English Channel (okay, maybe not that far but you get my drift?) Running a marathon. Running Mr. Donald Trump’s business for a day, of course with him alongside me. Doing a cameo on a soap opera.

Each challenge I face will also be sponsored through a variety of corporations and private sectors with 100% of the proceeds going to various charities. I am counting on you to help spread the word to various corporate and private sponsors. My goal is to tour the country and eventually the world raising money with “The Jason Challenge” in addition to donating 20% of the proceeds I receive from my work as a motivational speaker and life coach to various charities all over the nation such as the United Way. I will need funds for travel and lodging depending upon the nature of each challenge and where it is to take place.
What is it like being born with a disability and beating the odds? Learn how Jason accomplishes the impossible every day of his life.
Jason's goal for this event is increase awareness of persons with disabilities and to raise $10,000 from love offerings and merchandise sales.
This will raise money and help Jason continue to do what he does best, help other persons with disabilities realize and accomplish their dreams including helping various charities. Jason earns his living by these speaking engagements and workshops. This helps with living expenses, cost of renting the facility, paying staff and allows us to give a substantial sum to charity.
